We have been studying the Circulatory System in Health class.

The Circulatory System is made up of your heart, blood and blood vessels.

To keep your circulatory system healthy you need to remember three things:

  1. Exercise at least sixty minutes every day.
  2. Do not smoke.
  3. Eat healthy.

Last year in fourth grade we talked about Nutrition and the basics of eating healthy.

The three main eating rules we discussed were:

  1. Eat more plants (Plants have NO Cholesterol plus they do have
good stuff like Fiber, Vitamins and Minerals)
  2. Eat a variety
  3. Limit the amount of Fat, Sodium and Cholesterol

Make sure you DO NOT EAT TOO MANY foods that are
HIGH in Fat, Sodium and Cholesterol.

TOO MUCH Fat, Sodium and Cholesterol is NOT a healthy choice for your Circulatory System.

In order to make healthy food choices we need to understand the Nutrition Facts Label that appears on containers and packages of food.

The next activities will require you to read and analyze Nutrition Facts Labels.
